Movie Review by Lisa

Blasphemy

My 11-year-old niece is gaga over this movie and the books that spawned them; she lusts after Patterson and wishes she were as waif and pale Kristen Stewart. I think every generation of tweens needs a good vampire movie; unfortunately I feel that this movie is letting down our current batch of tweens.

Ok lets start with a Vampire checklist; drink blood, check, live forever, check (so far so good) pale complexion, sleep in coffin, check, don't like sunlight because it makes them shiny, brrrrrrp ding ding ding, wrong answer Ms Meyers you silly mare.

NO NO NO vampire burn up and die in sunlight they don't get all shiny, this for me is the fatal flaw for this film.

The movie looks great, it was the cinematography that kept me watching. I like Kristen Stewart, but Patterson doesn't do it for me at all he's a lil skinny for my liking he's no Billy Wirth (see hot vampire from Lost Boys) that's for sure.

I get that this is made for tweens to drool over but surely they coulda made it a lil bit scary it is suppose to be a vampire flick after all.

They get "twink"ly, not shiny. LOL. But seriously, I love Hardwicke as a director and she did her damnedest to make this look like a good movie. And cinematography wise it is really gorgeous.

totally the movie looked great and although twinkly vampires don't really do it for me, my niece has already talked me into taking her to see the new one.
