Favorite Movie Quote: "I ain't that boy! I ain't that boy!"

Andrew Garfield was magnificent as Jack, who was trying to live a normal life after serving 14 years for a murder committed as a boy.

Everything seems to be going great. He has a job and a girlfriend (Katie Lyons), and he even performed a heroic act saving a little girl. But, all good things must come to an end. His secret is discovered, as one would expect. But, how it came out was a huge surprise.

Peter Mullan (Session 9, Trainspotting) was also excellent as the mentor who tried to help Jack.

John Crowley has established himself as a great director with this film. It was really a thoughtful and beautiful story.

You know, I actually had this at home last week and was planning on watching it because a couple of my co-worker buds from joblo were raving about how great it was... but then I watched SNOW ANGELS and hated that movie more than any other movie I hated from 2008, so I just got all disappointed and decided to send this one back unwatched. I might check into it again at a later date, but I've been watching some depressing dramas lately and didn't think I could handle another one.

It really wasn't depressing at all. You actually found yourself hoping that this grown up child murderer would make it.
