The trilogy completed.
Favorite Movie Quote: "Who wants to eat the girl?"
Suspira, Inferno, and, now, finally, Mother Of Tears. There is no one out there in movie land that can make a horror film like Dario Argento.
The color palette that Argento uses perfectly matches the mood everywhere in the film. from red to blue, and different shades of lighting, his films are a feast for the eyes.
Argento doesn't just flash a boobie here and there. he makes nudity seem natural and an integral part of the story. The amount of nudity in this film would be soft-core porn if it were done by anyone by Argento.
The bloody scenes are not done off-camera with the results displayed as you see in so many films. Here, you see the guts spilling, the head being chopped, the spear through the vagina all the way through the mouth, and an amazing final performance of the Mother of Tears. Fantastic gore, and incredible use of sewage.
The choice of Moran Atias was a stroke of genius. Not only is she incredibly beautiful, but a great actress. I also like the fact that Argento used his daughter Asia as the film's lead. She was amazing.
The only criticism of the film I have is the final confrontation between the Mother of Tears and Sara. We were built up for something more substantial. It was almost anti-climatic.
Still, a great film.
