Indestructible Man (1956)

I want my killer extra crispy!
I always liked "Dragnet." Sgt. Joe Friday was a no nonsense cop who just wanted the facts. Fans of "Dragnet" will find this sci fi offering to be equally entertaining.
Lon Chaney Jr. is perfectly cast as Charles 'Butcher' Benton, a man who is scheduled to die in the gas chamber, but who vows to kill his lawyer and his accomplices who turned State's evidence and get back the $600,000 he stole from an armored car robbery. Max Showalter (10, Sixteen Candles) is Police Lt. Richard 'Dick' Chasen, who refuses to close the case until he gets the remaining crooks and recovers the money.
Nobody takes the Butcher seriously, but a doctor doing illegal experiments buys the body under the table and experiments on it. In the process, he reanimates the Butcher and creates a man of steel, who goes on a rampage to get those who squealed on him and recover his loot.
The police can't stop him with bullets, so they resort to bazookas and flame throwers. He manages to survive all that to meet his end in the same way he was brought back to life.
Totally unrelated, I wonder what happened to Rita Green, who played a "Carney's bait" in this film. She only made three movies, and didn't have a name in any of them. She was hot!
