Movie Review by Steven
April 7th, 2008

The movie creates a problem for me because I did read the novel, and it is actually a pretty decent size horror novel. From what I remember from the novel, the story mainly about the couple who we don't really see in the beginning. The novel is an intense read by the way.

The film offers pointers from previous horror films similar to this. First, if a mysterious tourist asks you and your friends to accompany them to a site that you don't know (except the one person who remains in charge), then really don't go. Another pointer is that if scary looking kids are staring at you and they are silent, just head back to where you came from.

The movie does have a good flow and does offer some good scares. Sometimes though you are left wondering why don't know do this? or how can that be? Then again we the audience did not write the script.

I will say that if you are a true horror fan, read the novel, it is more terrifying.
