A new animated film from Pixar. The year is 2700. WALL E, a robot, spends every day doing what he was made for. But soon, he will discover what he was meant for. From Academy Award-winning director, Andrew Stanton ("Finding Nemo"), "WALL E" is the story of one robot's comic adventures as he chases his dream across the galaxy.
Wall E is the latest film from Pixas Studios and also the latest movie from Academy Award Winning director Andrew Stanton. I have to say that Wall E is the cutest and most fun animated movie I have ever seen. The animation looks fantastic, the story about Wall E falling in love and everything is told greatly and the movie is funny. Thats the one thing about Wall E is that its more then just an average animated movie, it actually tells a love story, a robot love story. So one day Wall E chases a little red light around the environment and occasionally runs across a large group of them, so when he realizes that you cant exactly catch light, a ship lands right near him and uncovers a little robot named Eva. Eva immediately catches the eye of Wall E and from this moment on, he is in love. At first though she seems like a beautiful robot, but this is until she starts blowing up rocks and shooting at Wall E's little rodent pet thing. They begin seeing each other and now Wall E is hooked. I really love the fact that there is kind of a love story and the whole movie revolves around him just trying to hold her hand. A lot of awes came out of the audience through the film and this was helped by the animation.
Wall E is one of the best looking films I have ever seen when it comes to the level of animation. Everything is polished up real nicely and a lot of things actually seem to be real. Such as Wall E shoveling up dirt with his little robot hands or the scene where Eva is shown flying around the landscape with the camera close behind. With this animation came a lot of great shots helped by director Andrew Stanton. There is some scenes where we actually get some quck zoom in's and some shaky moments with the camera. When Wall E gets into space and we begin seeing the once in shape humans, things get a little bit cartoony but it all looks great.
While being a kids movie, there are a few things which the director and screenwriter contain in the plot which deal with real world problems. After everybody left earth, people got lazy. The ship/cruise has a hover chair, a new chair which basically floats on a track and moves the humans from one place to another without them using energy. BnL company is shown a lot through the movie and they create foods in a drink form. So all the time we see people floating around with these drinks and then they gain weight. This shows that our humans are lazy and will try anything to not excert energy. There are plenty of machines which brush their teeth or comb their hair so their people can just relax their whole lives.
Wall E is the best movie of 2008 so far, not to mention the cutest. It gets a lot of respect in my book and there was never a moment I hated.
