Favorite Movie Quote: "The great thing about not getting the person that you love is that you can still think about that person and masturbate, which is essentially the same thing."
If you're sick of seeing those crappy parody movies that they keep slinging out (although by the box office draws they've been raking in, seems like the lot of America is just f*cking idiots), try out something that actually understands how to grind out a parody.
See, in my opinion, you've got to love and understand your subject in order to make fun of it properly. While this movie is a little too underdirected for my tastes, it is written far too well to be overlooked.
And it's written by the guy who made the awesome SLITHER, Mr. James Gunn. Not as mean or as far-fetched as MYSTERY MEN, and while I could have done without the direct jokes like having Jamie Kennedy in the blue make-up to mock Nightcrawler from X-MEN, it's the lovely little in-jokes that make this film worth watching.
Judy Greer as Deadly Girl, with her b*tchy stare. Paget Brewster looking the put-upon wife of the lead Special, played with aplomb by Thomas Hayden Church. Minute Man (James Gunn) getting heckled by his (now-estranged) wife when he corrects her that he's not "Minute" man but "My-Noot" man.
Well worth watching for the brilliance that is Gunn. A little sloppy (perhaps because it was shot in only 18 days) in terms of directing and editing for my tastes, but a hidden gem nonetheless, especially in the mess of sh*tty parodies currently getting more attention than they deserve.

| Listen to the commentaries for more insight as to why it was sloppily done. And also for Paget Brewster referring to Jessica Alba as "a monster." |
