I want batteries like that
I was unimpressed with the film. That's the easiest way for me to describe it, in the simplest of terms. I was thoroughly unimpressed. Even my seven year old daughter looked insanely bored while watching it, stating at one point with exasperation, "This isn't even scary!!"
Blair Witch meets yuppies who look too polished throughout the entire disaster, joking too easily with one another during destruction, and managing too well with horrific pain.
I couldn't get past the fact that there's no camera and no tape and no battery on the planet that could have endured that length of time without giving up the ghost. While the movie is approximately 2 hours long, the time frame of the film is more than 12 hours. So I'm not fooled. In fact, I'm just irritated.
To the point that when the last scene from the tape is shown, the two impromptu lovers on the ferris wheel at Coney Island talking about having a good day, I was more interested in getting out of the theater than noticing the creature fall out of the sky and into the water in the far off background of the shot.
JJ Abrams better not screw up the new STAR TREK movie too badly, considering that that time around he gets to play with actors that most people actually WANT to go see.
As for Cloverfield, I won't say that I hated it, but I just was so "meh" about its entire length that it's really not worth my time typing this out.

ooh, harsh. But I think I might go watch it again just to watch the Coney Island scene again. I missed the falling monster! he he.
I actually liked its laidbackedness. Laidbackativity? |

| Haven't seen this yet, but when I saw the way they were marketing the trailer, I was like, "gimmick? Skip it!" I can SMELL marketing poops a mile away. |
