Beyond Good and Evil
Favorite Movie Quote: "Introduce a little anarchy."
I have seen this movie three times now and it has gotten better every time I see it. I haven't changed my original rating because it stands – it's not a perfect film. Regardless, it is dazzling and important and deepens in resonance with every viewing.
So much focus is going to be focused on Heath Ledger dying it is too bad that it will take away from the work he actually does on the screen. He's magnificent. His work is the most daring seen from any actor in film not named Day-Lewis.
The key is in the writing. It is frankly some of the best you'll find in a Hollywood summer blockbuster and not to be overlooked. All the acting is great but they have a lot to work with. The one exception is Maggie Gyllenhaal. It's a shame because she's a talented actor but all of the inspired writing is used on the male characters.
This movie is like nothing that came before it and the culmination of a type. It won't get much better than this for the Batman franchise or for American movies in 2008.

| This was a very good movie, they'll have a tough time topping it in the next one. |
