Movie Review by Luz
May 7th, 2008

Favorite Movie Quote: "I do anything and everything that Mr. Stark requires, including occasionally taking out the trash."

Iron Man was everything it was supposed to be... and then some. I'm not even a fan of either Robert Downey, Jr. or Gwyneth Paltrow--or of superheroes in general, or of comics in particular--but this movie was pretty awesome all around. Funny, smart, action-packed, a [surprisingly satisfying] plot, high-tech special effects, subtle romance, political undertones, and a touch of feminism. It had it all.

Bottom line: It made me wanna go buy a Burger King kid's meal just for the prize.

I know! I hate BK, but I'd go just for the toy in the kids meal! LOL!

I can't wait to figure out what the connection is to Burger King. Is this a mom thing? Where you been woman, I haven't heard from you in ages!

uh, trying to catch up on my reading assignments? he he. It's taken me the past two months just to get halfway through reading your last column! ;o)

You won't find a BK reference in the movie--you'll have to go to your local BK for it.

My last one? The one on Badass Babes? I dedicated that one to Luz-ifer!

Whaddaya mean? Burger King was all over that movie. And when he said "I need an American burger" and broke out with a BK bag, I thought of you! :)

Oh yeah!! I forgot about that. heh. Wow, bet they spent a pretty penny on that plug and it was completely wasted on me.

But see, it worked on your SUBCONSCIOUS! You're being manipulated by the puppeteers and you don't even know it.

Darn that subliminality! he he. Actually, I wouldn't've known about the kid's meal prize except I overheard somebody else mention it. I just thought the connection was random.

And for the record, it hasn't technically worked yet anyway. I hate BK fries even more than I loved Iron Man. :o)

I shouldn't even admit this but when I lived in Seattle I had some friends who lived close to a BK and a McDonald's that were right next to each other and I'd go get my burger at BK and my fries at Mickey D's. Ugh. I don't eat that way any more. :)
