Good
Being a fan of action video games, Hitman was one which deeply drew me in. When I first heard that the adaptation was going to be done, I instantly thought of it as a seccess. I mean, the character if Agent 47 is such a mystery. He has no background, no normal name and learns only what he is meant to. Also I thought this would be a big chance to show the world that a good adaptation could be released, the director could have made huge action scenes and a great story. The movie is violent, the acting is ok and there are some big action moments. On the negative side, the movie runs slow and some scenes were just stupid or ridiculous.
Grown up in a world of violence and rules, Agent 47 is a professional hitman. As a kid, he was taught to fight, shoot a gun and how to kill people. Now, hes put into the middle of a game. Mike Whittier is a special agent who has been on the look for Agent 47 for a long time. Just as he gets close, he gets pushed out of the way by French intelligence. When Agent 47 is assigned to take out the Russian president, he ends up killing a double of the president, then leading a trail directly towards him. Accomplanied by a witness, he must fight for his life, while solving the mystery of who he is.
Hitman was a very violent game. Much like the movie, which just throws blood everywhere they can and dont care who sees it. There are 4 major action moments, one of them being the most exciting. Of course, following the action movie formula, the camera is shaky and all over the place, also we should tie in the absoulutely huge body count the film gives us. The film was slow, sometimes almost making me fall asleep.
Timothy Olyphant did an amazing job in Live Free or Die Hard, but I was surprised when he was put into the role. Now I belive that he nailed the role in a perfect way. Putting on an okay performance was Olga playing as Nika.
Bottom Line: One Of The Better Adaptations
