Movie Review by Andrea
November 16th, 2007

I went to the theater and saw it the weekend it came out. I didn't have many expectations..I only wanted to laugh. And, I did. I never used to like Vince Vaughn but ever since he broke up with Aniston..I've watched more of his films and grown to like him. His performance was worth it. There were times in the movie that it was just rambling stupid jokes that made no sense but I've heard my share of jokes and been around all kinds of people so I didn't think it was BAD jokes. Comedies always lack somewhere... The movie started off serious and was in and out between genres (comedy/drama) but it worked well. I really liked how they did the back story on Fred Claus (Vaughn). Paul Giamatti (Santa) was pretty good too but I've never been a huge fan. I thought his wife in the film did a much much better job. I don't know her real name...but she looked familiar. Kevin Spacey was seriously under-used. I realize they just put him in there to make a story and have a certain ending but come ON....they could have done way better. I thought Martin Short's performance in Santa Clause 3 was way better than Spacey's any day. And, I like Spacey's acting. Kathy Bates is in a small role as the mother of Fred and Nicholas Claus.
