Movie Review by Chris
December 31st, 2007

Death Proof was the second film in the combined Grindhouse film, I believe. Directed by none other then Quentin Tarantino, the man who brought us Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill series. Death Proof is not at all like Planet Terror, the second film in Grindhouse. A former stunt man, Stuntman Mike drives around all day stalking young girls and sometimes making his move, so after he flirts around with a group of girls and eventually ends up killing them, he moves on to more girls. But when he starts messing with this group of women, they start messing with him. Now, hes messing with the wrong group of girls and he will finally realize how his life will end.

Kurt Russel is a well known actor, starring in Backdraft and other popular films, this part as Stuntman Mike is a big break for him. Now that Quentin Tarantino can direct him on screen, Kurt's name can get even bigger for this part. Mike is strange, as he is a pervert. So as ends up advancing on these woman, hes kind of sweet and flirts around. But he gets serious quick and gets mean. Kurt handles this well as his anger level can shoot through the roof, quickly. Kurt is just amazing in here and I have a new found respect for him.

Quentin is the kind of director who uses very smooth camera styles and makes everything about 10x more effective using this method of camera style. All of the car chase scenes in the film are shot using a camera on a car and you feel like you are literally in the middle of the chase. There are plenty of car chases which really build up suspense and give us a break from the choppy humor and funny dialogue scenes.

The script to not only Death Proof but all of Quentin's movies are great. With Death Proof, he gets to work with a lot of sexual dialogue as the whole movie sorrounds female characters and everything.

Death Proof is an awesome movie directed by an awesome man. Check it out!
