Finally I hit the jackpot!
Favorite Movie Quote: "That cold ain't the weather, that's death approaching."
I was really unmotivated to watch this film after I got a new game for the xbox 360 that I had been dying to play and it sucked bad. I was already a little skeptical about this film to begin with and with my current mood I knew this was going to be a disaster.
It turns out that this was probably the best vampire film that I have seen in years and I liked it so much that I already started watching it again with the commentary on.
It is full of blood, gore and even shows a little girl get decapitated which I thought was just the icing on the cake. The vampires aren't seductive, lustful or dressed in silly frail....and most are ordinary or ugly actors that give you the impression that they are there JUST TO FEED, none of the other bullsh*t that Hollywood has tried to convert vampires to in the past.
The vampires don't have fangs but a set of razor sharp "shark-like" teeth and they move quick, they are strong and they mean business. I was told ahead of time that the vampires where scary and that was not a lie.....a good bit different then a film like Interview With A Vampire.
I have started to like Josh Hartnett after Lucky Number Slevin, he is a good actor that just picked some bad movies to do in the past and got that "pop-teen-actor" image stamped on him that he is trying now to get rid of.
Danny Huston plays the head vampire and was amazing, although he has a hell of an acting resume I never have noticed him in any other films but after this I will be looking for him.
The main problems with this film where just a few incidents which were a little hard to believe. One instance when a young child is walking around the town towards the end of the film, covered in blood and the vampires for some reason never mess with her. She must have been trained by Newt from Aliens (the only survivor of LV426 was a little girl that the Aliens seemed not to mess with.)
Also the end battle between the head vampire and Hartnett seemed a little too quick and not the battle I was hoping for. This film happens over the period of 30 days but I felt like the days went by way too quick, like the characters went to sleep for an hour and it skipped ahead 10 days. The director should have come up with a way to make it evident to the audience that time had passed.
If you have ever seen the film Phantoms with Ben Affleck, this film reminds me of it in some ways. Its a small town in which these vampires take over for a while, cut off from the rest of the world.
A great flick that any vampire fan should enjoy.

| You liked it, huh? Well, I will definitely check it out, then. LOVE a good vampire flick. I haven't read your whole review yet cuz I like to see movies as naked as possible but will do so soon. |

| I liked this, but it did have it's flaws. The passage of time was very poorly done and the ending was pretty cheesy. |
