Movie Review by Bennie
October 8th, 2009

Trick R Treat is an anthology horror film that was finally released on DVD this week after being shelved for two years. It was originally supposed to get a wide theatrical release.

Sort of a combination of Creepshow, Goosebumps, and John Carpenter's Halloween, Trick R Treat is different from most anthology type movies. All the stories take place in the same town on the same night, which of course is Halloween night. Like in Creepshow or an episode of Tales From The Crypt, there's a delicious surprise twist at the end of each story.

I had read many reviews for Trick R Treat before watching it, most of them praising the film. Some critics even went as far as to say that it was the best movie ever made that took place on Halloween. After seeing it, I disagree. Sure, it's a fun, unpredictable flick, but I like several of the entries in the Halloween series, as well as Night of the Demons, better than this.

If you're a horror fan, I think you should check this movie out. It would especially be a good movie to watch on Halloween night. Just don't expect a lot of gore or scares. But do expect to be entertained.
