Awe...
Poor Stiffler. Everyone always wants to f*ck his mom.
I actually love Seann William Scott. I feel for him in his having created one of the most memorable characters in recent film history and now being forced to never live it down. People will always identify him with being Stiffler from the AMERICAN PIE movies, but whenever I watch him, I laugh. (Although that might not have been such a beneficial thing when it came to BULLETPROOF MONK.) He's a top-notch comedy actor, having the ability to pull through solidly whenever it is called for. Kinda like the male equivalent of Christina Applegate, another actor who will always be remembered for playing one character, but being a supreme professional in every sense of the term.
There are some good points to this movie when it comes to humour, most of it coming from the fight for Scott's mom, the hot-as-always Susan Sarandon. Men can never seem to let go of their mommies, and I can't imagine a grown man have to watch another man, especially one he grew up despising, date his mom.
But aside from a few good key moments, the movie never rises above average. I can't say that that didn't surprise me, and perhaps I'm not as forced to be harsh on it because my expectations weren't high and the movie delivered what I thought it would.
In any case, I'd still do Stiff... er, Scott. Even if he does have those really weird ears.
