All About Eve (1950)

Bette Davis At Her Best
Bette Davis' best role as an adult. She was brilliant as a young actress, but with age she was cast less and less. Here she is the ultimate diva and there are few people who would dispute that Davis was just that in real life.
Margo Channing (Davis) takes in young Eve (Anne Baxter) as her assistant, but Eve quickly begins weaseling her way up into Channing's spotlight.
The film ends with the idea that there are many Eves, just waiting for the diva's moment of weakness, so that she may take her place.
Marilyn Monroe makes one of her first screen appearances here and almost steals the spotlight, but this is Davis' show.
Bette Davis was one of those actresses that you went to the movies to see, despite what the plot might be, however 'Eve' is one of the few films that lives up to her greatness.
A classic.
