Feature Length Rock Vid
Oh dear Lord. I have just finished watching Shoot 'Em Up and I think I have just witnessed the most ridiculous movie ever. Everything about it is daft. I think the makers of this film were probably making up the story as they went along and I am almost certain that Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci were somehow duped into appearing here. To be fair, the blurb on the DVD box really does not lie, it clearly states that this is over the top; shamelessly, it says. With that in mind I think I don't have that much cause for complaint, after all I have just witnessed a skydiving gunfight, a broken-finger gunfight, a car gunfight, a pulleys and reels gunfight, a gunfight inside, one outside and lots of lactating. I could be mistaken, but I'm sure there were a couple of gunfights in there too.
Having said that, I feel that writer and director probably just wants to make videos for Rock bands. The soundtrack is quite awesome, a few of my all-time favourite hard rock tracks have just managed to appear in the same film, so I am feeling pretty rocked out at the moment. I recommend you could watch this if you have an urge to rock and don't mind gunfights.

You know, at one point I was actually half-expecting that the baby would pull out its own gun and join in on the gunfighting. I mean, why not?? It wouldn't have harmed the story in any way. It might have actually helped it along.
It's not hard to believe that this flick pulled in a lot of bucks for everyone involved. Do you think that they are all laughing at us (the audience) for being suckered into forking out our hard-earned cash for this trash? I kinda get the feeling that this flick was made to be terrible on purpose. It proved to them that we are nothing but stupid drones. And they are laughing their guts out at us with their pockets full of our dough. |
