Not bad for a straight to video sequel

Well, most people have not seen the first film titled "Animal" but if you have this is a must see. At the end of Animal we left Ving Rhames laying in the street bleeding to death after he had just been shot to death (so we thought) by his son played by Terrance Howard.

However the bad ass is back. Animal 2 really starts off confusing. It is not explained until almost half way into the film how there is a sequel. One really confusing thing is that Terrance Howard's character is in the film but this time is played by Vicellous Reon Shannon.....which is really a strange replacement since they do not mirror each other at all with physical appearance or acting style. Once you figure out that he is playing the same son the film gets a lot easier to understand.

It was a decent script but I found it great to watch Ving Rhames beat the sh*t out of more inmates. Besides Ving Rhames and Vicellous Reon Shannon the rest of the cast was pretty weak.

I was really surprised that a sequel was made to this film, the first Animal was a straight to video film and I guess it rented enough to make another. Check out both of them if you want to see some good fight scenes.
