Movie Review by Zombie Boy
August 4th, 2007

The good:

Naming the dog Shoeshine. Since Underdog was a humble, lovable shoeshine boy in the original cartoon. A nice nod to the source material.

The beagle in question was excruciatingly cute.

Patrick Warburton as Cad. He may be a one-trick pony, but he's a funny one.

This is the big one (and the reason for the third star): Peter Dinklage as Simon Bar-Sinister. Damn, but if he wasn't spot on.

The bad:

Almost everything else. The rest of the cast was as bland as bland can be. The last act of the film devolved into complete nonsense, and got dumber and dumber with every passing frame. The film tried to ride the fence of mediocrity, but ended up falling off it more than not into the land of just plain bad. And what was up with the Underdog character itself? One minute he was a jerk, the next he was wise beyond his years. Pick a character arc, movie, and stick with it.

The ugly:

Me, as always.
