Movie Review by Tim
October 28th, 2007

As my father always says nozdrovja to your health

I read what other people had to say about this film and still wanted to give it a shot. I liked Hostel part one OK, ZombieBoy stated that either people loved it or hated it and I don't feel as if that applied to me. My BFF Daris on the other hand hated it so bad that after we watched it he sold it on Ebay the next day. His biggest complaint was that it was advertised to be the goriest film ever made and it wasn't that gory.

So I got Hostel 2 hoping just to have a decent film to watch and that's exactly what it turned out to be. It took a little long to get to the torture and gore which is what I was looking forward to. Also in this they got rid of the nudity which was plastered all through the first Hostel. This one shows a little but I think they should have put more in.

What I don't like about this film is the fact that filmmakers seem to be scared of showing rape in films anymore. If sadistic torturers are buying women to torture I just cant see them not raping them first or doing some sort of sexual acts to just degrade them even more. Also the coolest scene with the woman getting off on the other girls blood flowing on her seemed to just be quick and over.

On top of that they chose to not show a kid getting assassinated by a bad guy.....its left for you to hear the shot and see the body from the backside.....again why not show it? Were they scared of getting an NC-17 rating.....maybe but at least shoot the scenes better for the DVD. It was also advertised for this film that it had the most shocking horror movie ending ever and I still am not understanding that because I found NOTHING about this film shocking or even original.

Now one of the most disturbing scenes I have ever seen being a guy was when the girl cut off a mans penis with scissors.....oddly enough they didn't leave that scene up to your imagination they actually show it. You want to talk about squirming......NO man could watch that scene without grabbing their crouch at the same time to make sure that its safe.

I guess it just takes a lot to give me that "wow" factor, some people cant stand seeing any gore but I'm like Britney Spears.....Give me Give me More.....
