I didn't think this was for small kids
I took my four year old to see this movie. She really liked. However; had my six year old been with us instead of hanging at a friends house we would have left soon than we did. I don't want to sound snooty, but at one point in this movie a penguins gentitals were blurred out. In another scene Cody and Lani are under a waterfall and she asks him if she can ask him something personal. Codys' reply is...why not we're already in the shower together. There were other instances when Tank ( who likes to make out with his trophies) mother asks him if he is in his room 'polishing his trophy again'. It's hard enough keeping kids from growing up too fast, I try to really pay attention to what my children are hearing. This movie is a good movie. It had a lot of funny parts, but I really don't think its for young kids.

You don't sound snooty. You just sound like the kind of mom who will end up with children who have complexes about healthy sexual relationships and are embarrassed of the fact that they have genitals (most likely referring to them as some cutesy name).
In all honesty, those parts really went past me. I didn't look any deeper into them and I personally feel that anyone who does has some issues. Being snooty isn't one of them. |

I, for one, would like to thank Krissy for standing up for her children. I don't plan on going anywhere near this movie. Movies with this type of sexual content and derogatory language only desensitize our children to these subjects. They become so commonplace that they no longer matter. You can have a healthy sexual relationship (note the singular) without completley trivializing the subject in front of children.
Frankly, it wouldn't suprise me if Zara came home one day to a pregnant teenager. Zara, those parts may have went past you, but I can almost guarantee you your kids will be talking about them with their friends. They don't miss anything. My 7-year-old caught the comment about "nuggets" that we saw in the trailer. I didn't explain it to her because I don't feel that that type of language is a positive aspect of a 7-year-old's personality. People who look deeper into sexual inuendos and disrespectful language have no other issues than trying to raise healthy, well adjusted, respectful kids. Media content defines how our kids see the world. Hollywood tells us that it will go over their heads, but my experience is that almost nothing actually does. Way to go Krissy for taking charge of how your kids view the world. |

But hey, what do I know? I only TALK to my kid. And we all know how horrible that is.

Enjoy life with your head up your ass. Just don't doom your children to that fate as well.
