I'm afraid you have to old sport.

Ted Crawford: Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Wow I have hit the lottery with rentals lately. It use to be that for every 3 films that I rented I ended up really only liking one, one would be decent and the other would just be horrible.
Again this is a film that I knew little going into. I like Anthony Hopkins so I picked it up. It starts off making you think that its your typical man on trial type of story which it is. Anthony Hopkins is being charged with killing his wife and Ryan Gosling is the DA trying to convict him.
Here is where the film becomes unique. Anthony Hopkins killed his wife....not a spoiler....you as the audience are shown that in the first 10 minutes of the film. What is different is that I rooted for Anthony Hopkins the whole film..even though he is suppose to be the bad guy the writer and director make you fall in love with his character. Ryan Gosling is suppose to be the good guy. The smart lawyer, good looking guy who is going to put this murderer away but you hate him like he is the villain.
Anthony Hopkin gave a great performance, which should not be a surprise...he usually is if not always wonderful. The story is good and the supporting cast is more then decent.
My biggest complaint is the score. Whoever picked the music for this film really did not understand the script or characters. The music tries to be way to suspenseful and edgy when the mood is not set like that at all.
Also if your into cars at all, Anthony Hopkins drives a Porsche Carrera GT which is just awesome and a nice change from your typical Ferrari, Mercedes type of vehicle that the rich guy always has.
