Flora Martinez is the Latina Rose McGowan. She's got a great rack (even though hers is fake whereas Rose's is natural) big pouty lips and a pair of doe eyes that draw you in and leave you paralyzed in place. If not for her, this movie might have been quite a mess. She really does draw you in as Rosario and keep your attention on what might have otherwise been chalked up to just another overly melodramatic Latin pelicula mess.
But Unax Ugalde and Manolo Cardona aren't bad to look at either. I'm tempted to refer to them as the Latin (and much better looking) Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, but I don't know if the guys are friends in real life and it might belittle them considering the shtick that most people associate with the former pair. I'm just glad that there was a plentiful amount of nudity on both the male and female parts (although sadly no male full frontal, just female).
I was a trifle puzzled with the WEEKEND AT BERNIE'S funeral moment until I did some searching and discovered that it's not terribly uncommon in Latin America, to celebrate a corpse if the person died in a manner unbefitting to their character. It stands out as being a little hysterical though in a movie that has some strikingly solid dramatic moments.
I guess it might have been a good thing that I watched this on a day off in the afternoon. But in any case, I rather liked the film.
