What SINGLES wanted to be

If Penthouse really pays 25k for stories, I'm going to get cracking on that immediately.

All joking aside, I loved this movie. I loved it so much that I'm going to hunt down the book that it was based on and read that as well. Even though it's centered in Australia, I think this is the best representation of what people of my generation have been going through. We're all a little like Taylor's character, adrift and unwilling to grow roots for fear of stagnation, but at the same time we all profess to be in it for the long haul when it comes to romance.

This was what Cameron Crowe tried to get at in his sophomore effort, SINGLES. The thing is, this movie manages to pull off holding up a mirror to the young people of today who aren't so young anymore while at the same time being legitimately funny and very smart.

A great film well worth hunting down and renting. I was able to find it through NetFlix.
