Movie Review by Zara
January 19th, 2008

Oh, man. There was so much hope for this movie. A stoner flick that most people haven't heard about directed by a guy (Gregg Araki) that I worship.

And there are some really great things about this movie. Some stuff that is so spot on that when we laughed, we were laughing so hard that our sides hurt and we needed to go back to catch the parts that we missed while we were laughing.

But then there are the deep lulls where nothing funny (or insightful) happens. You know, those uncomfortable silences where the people who are sitting around watching it start to fidget and try not to look at one another, lest be considered fools for having laughed in other places.

I wish I could say that I liked it more and I probably would have even given this a 3 star review if it hadn't copped out for such an anti-drug ending. It also made me sad that it made John Cho look so unattractive. Boo.

But the part where she tries to drive her car is so much like me, I started to get paranoid that someone was in the bushes the last time I tried to drive stoned. Heh.

My man & I watched this Friday night, and I couldn't really agree more. Anna Faris, just seems like a little too much of a one-trick pony, withh the slapstick physical comedy and goofy facial expressions. It just felt too played out after awhile. And, well, I kinda thought Mikey was pretty cute :o) And Danny Masterson skullf***ing cracked me up big every time....

I also liked that whatever was suggested to her, she instantly came back with, "OMG! Yeah!!" because it reminded me of the younger kids in high school that we would corrupt and then screw with, telling them stuff that they ended up believing.
