Movie Review by Zara

Oh, Ethan

Hmm... I wonder why he's not on the cast list. (Ethan Embry, that is. I love that guy.)

Bright point: The movie is excellently shot, the cinematography shines in golden hues, like the dawn peeking through the curtains. It's appropriately dark when it needs to be and harsh the other times. All of this adds to creating the tension that normally wouldn't have been there if the movie relied solely on its actors.

I would like to say that I didn't like the movie, simply because it seems that most people weren't very big fans of it, but that would be a lie. While I have grown to be irritated at Luke Wilson's decision to embrace every single project that is thrown at him (mostly sh*tty stuff) and am becoming more and more aware of the limitations of Kate Beckinsale, an actress I once though had some promise to her, I think the two of them did well together. Honestly, I'm not sure if I could picture two different people in the roles.

Frank Whaley, however, isn't scary and never really will be to me. In my mind, he'll always be Jim from CAREER OPPORTUNITIES. I can't see him as being scary, sorry.

The ending sucks, there are portions that could have been played for some more chills, but overall, the movie isn't nearly as bad as some of the haters have painted it to be. Watch it in the dark, maybe after you've taken a long road trip and it should do the right job.

Or like me, when you're sick and weak to begin with. Ha!

I love Ethan Embry! This movie was a lot better than I was expecting it to be. A very nice surprise.
