Movie Review by Zombie Boy
April 21st, 2007

I would love to give a more comprehensive review of this film, but I had the world's worst theater audience experience. People screeching at the slightest jump-scare, and CONSTANTLY talking to the screen, each other, their imaginary friends, who the f*ck knows...

Anyway, if you've seen the previews, there are no real surprises. Couple drives, couple breaks down, couple is tormented by psycho snuff film peddlers.

I have mixed feelings on the film, and hope to see it again soon without the distractions (probably when it hits video). I think the sense of suspense hits the right note, and the violence is jarring and effective. The real weakness of the film is the troubled relationship of the couple. Instead of presenting the scene and letting the audience decide how they feel about it, they reach out like 3D and hit you with an emotional hammer. Clunky and clichéd dialogue. It was also rather short, and had an abrupt ending, as the other reviewer pointed out.

All in all, I was left with a favorable impression, and hope to see what will undoubtedly be a more complete version on DVD.

Oh, and I LOVED the titles and music.
