Not The OC

In the Land of Women isn't The OC, despite what the trailer tries to portray. The movie falls somewhere between The Graduate and The Last Kiss. It's the famous story of a twenty-something guy in a crisis. It's not the teen soap opera that made the main star famous. Adam Brody really surprised me with the ability to play a character with some depth rather than just being the sarcastic guy. In fact, all of the cast really pull of their roles well. The problem with the movie is the rushed plot lines. In the Land of Women runs about 90 minutes, but probably needed another 15-20 minutes to hit the effect it aims at.

The story is all about the interactions between the characters and their relationship development. It seems almost as soon as they lay out the course for each relationship they've slammed into the conclusion. Not many people say this, but the movie needed to be longer. There was real potential, but the film falls flat.
