Ford. Built Tough.
Favorite Movie Quote: "Get on Gramps!"
Bring on the choreography! Man, there's a lot going on in this flick. There is no doubt in my mind that Ford is still tenured professor slash archaeologic explorer that can still fight off the bad guys, solve the riddle, retrieve the treasure, save his friends, all while managing to keep his hat on. It may seem a little far-fetched during those scenes where good vs. evil are all vieing for the artifact in speeding vehicles amid jungle brush, but this is an Indiana Jones movie, it's always done on a grand scale.
Blanchett is a convincing Russkie, she doesnt come off as menacing as other Indi villains of the past, but the accent is fantastic. LaBeouf has proven himself to be a mature young actor with a keen delivery who's tight with the action scenes, but he has a few more years before he can crack the whip. John Hurt fits in nicely as another of Indi's eccentric colleagues reminescent of Marcus Brody while Ray Winstone balances it out as an old friend overcome with greed. Last but not least, there is no one other than Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood to stand at the side of Dr. Jones. It seems a bit verbose at times and at others too simple in vocabulary. Other than that there is no need for anyone to be under the microscope for long as they all pull it off in true Indiana Jones fashion; campy, thrilling, and adventurous.
