Dead Silence

Dead Silence is the follow-up film to James Wan's first film, Saw. The film is about a newlywed who returns to his hometown, when his young bride is mysteriously murdered. He begins to unravel a mysterious legend of Mary Shaw and the legend might also be the cause of his bride's death. Donnie Wahlberg (Saw 2) and Bob Gunton (The Shawshank Redemption) co-star in this film. I was surprised that this movie was boring and dreary, as the writer and director of Saw made this film. The acting wasn't great. The film's major problem is its screenplay. I though the screenplay lacked any big scares and had no suspense whatsoever, as it felt like I was watching a low budgeted B movie. Also, I thought the characters in the film were boring, as I didn't care for any of them. Dead Silence is just another typical boring killer doll film that lacks scares or suspense. Hopefully James Wan will redeem himself from this mess, when Death Sentence comes out later this year starring Kevin Bacon and John Goodman. Please note: I saw the unrated version of this movie.
