Don't forget to bring a ladder...

Favorite Movie Quote: "My baby! My baby!"

The first Open Water was a sad excuse for a movie. The only thing thing it had going for it was the fact that both the characters were killed. Open Water 2 fixes everything that was wrong with the first movie. Instead of making it boring. They make it believable and dramatic. Instead of being stranded in the ocean without a boat. These kids are stranded right next to their boat. Oops! Somebody forget to put the ladder down!

None of the characters are likable. Every idea they come up with to get back on the boat is ignorant. All they do is fight with each other. To top it off they are in some remote part of the ocean that doesn't have any sea life!

The suspense is intense in this movie. The main female character keeps having flashbacks to show you why she is afraid of being in the water (it's because her dad raped her while she was underwater or something along those lines.) To complicate matters even more she leaves her baby alone on the boat! One pivotal scene has a "doctor" giving an accurate medical diagnosis just by looking at someone floating in the water. This movie does feature the most beautiful and poignant scene ever filmed. Just when things are at their worst and the main character wants to cry, a single rain drop falls into the ocean. It is the subtlest use of symbolism I have ever witnessed.

In a nutshell: This movie is freaking amazing! This is one of the best movies you will ever sea!
