YOU... ME... AND PWT
Favorite Movie Quote: "Crime pays.... Just not enough."
Ok. The truth is - This movie's title/poster combo certainly tells us more about a Trailer-Trash Lifestyle than I think we'd ever-ever care to know.
Set in rural Sunrise, Illinois - POOR WHITE TRASH (PWT) is truly a trashy, over-the-top comedy like none other.
Meet whitetrash waitress Linda Bronco. Linda is a single mom who has whitetrash dreams of sending her whitetrash son, Mike, to (get this) 'Psychology' College. But, let's face it - Mike is such a supreme, whitetrash moron that he'd never-ever make it even passed 'Trucker's' Kindergarten - Never.
Being typical whitetrash, Linda reasons that 'bucks not brains' is what's gonna get Mike, the moron, into the high-minded college courses of her choosing. Following this line of thinking, Linda, along with her son, Mike, and Mike's whitetrash friend, Ron embark on a career of crime.
Bonnie and Clyde - Look out!!
Ron's sleazy, gold-toothed, whitetrash grandfather, Lennie, who just happens to be a low-life lawyer with a whitetrash trophy-girlfriend named Betsy, tips Ron off about an 'easy grab' cash-stash at Mr. Snack, a whitetrash fast food joint located on the outskirts of Sunrise.
During the robbery, Suzi and Suzy, the 2 sweet, whitetrash countergirls at Mr. Snack, make goo-goo eyes at Mike and Ron, and, soon enough, they quickly become partners in this whitetrash crime.
Suzi and Suzy's typical, whitetrash mentality has lead these 2 dizzy flakes to believe that resorting to crime is their only, sure-fire way out of this whitetrash, trailer-park lifestyle for good. (Like, who would ever consider arguing about that sort of thing with the likes of Suzi and Suzy?)
(You know, as strange as this may sound - I believe there's actually some sort of a moral to this story, somewhere. But - What that moral is? The hell if I know. Hey! I ain't no whitetrash, for crying out loud!)
As far as Comedy/Crime films go - PWT wasn't really very funny. It was basically a one-joke movie, focussing in on the ineptitude of the ignorant whitetrash folks. PWT was mediocre entertainment at best.
The biggest problem with PWT was that each, and every one of the actors in the story put in a 'whitetrash' performance that was just a little too over-the-top for my liking, and this, unfortunately, rendered PWT, for the most part, too ridiculous and absurd.
Always Remember - "Crime pays... Providing that you don't get caught."
