Chan-wook Park I love him lots
A Korean friend of mine introduced me to the work of Chan-Wook Park a little over a year ago. I was wowed by the movie "Oldboy", and "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance", and instantly felt a wave of guilt and embarrassment that I knew so little about Korean film. But I was hooked and when I found out that there was a third movie I was all over it like a fat kid and cake.
"Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" is the third movie in the vengeance series and I must say it's my favorite.
Geum-ja Lee is falsely imprisoned for 13 years for the kidnap and murder of a 6-year-old boy. As you can imagine she's a might pissed off when she gets out. Her goal is to seek out the real killer and have her vengeance.
Yeong-ae Lee delivers a compelling performance as Geum-ja Lee and Mik-Sik Choi does not disappoint as Mr. Baek.
If you have never seen this movie or anything by Chan-Wook Park, I urge you go now and rent this one........its a must see film.
