Fight like a girl....

This is my all time favorite documentary, yes it even beat out "When we were kings"..... I'm a female boxer c'mon you can't be surprised.

Directed by Katya Bankowsky who also trained out of the world famous Gleeson gym on Brooklyn. We are taken through the rise of women's boxing from the first ever New York female golden gloves in 1995 (note female boxing was only made legal in the UK in 95) and goes on to follow the rise of one of the greatest female boxers of our time Lucia Rijker (she play "Blue Bear" the German fighter in Million Dollar Baby) as she plows through her opponents to take the title.

This is a very important film for me I own 2 copies and there isn't a female boxer in my club who hasn't seen this film.

If you are a boxing fan, female, or skeptical about women's boxing even if you have no interest in boxing you need to watch this movie. Rijker comes across as strong intellectual woman and not at all like some of her male counterparts (*cough* James Toney) she's an advocate for the sport.

For you, I will check it out. I did love GIRL FIGHT, so I'll probably dig this too.

Dig... hahaha.
