Movie Review by Tim

No honey for daddy?

I loved all the Nightmare On Elm Street films when I was younger and still to this day claim Freddy Krueger as my number one horror slasher. However the older and older I get I really start to notice how these films could have been so much better and how some of the ones that I use to really like, really get on my nerves.

I remember when this film hit the theaters.....The last 15 minutes of the movies was shown in 3-D. I was not able to attend because my parents where totally against me seeing R rated movies but my older brother actually went and brought me back a pair of the Freddy's Dead 3-D glasses which I still have to this day!

After past 5 being the worst in the series with the stupid Dream Child theme, Freddy's Dead was a shot in the dark to try to revive the series by making you think that he was really going to die this time. From the horrible actors which seemed to plague the later Nightmare films to the comical version of a child murderer this film just had all the DONTS that true Freddy fans DID NOT want to see.

I mean yeah its cool that Johnny Depp made a cameo in the movie.....It was cool that they played Iron Butterfly's groovy single "Ina Gadda da Vida," but come on Freddy f*cking Krueger playing f*cking video games with a damn powerglove????? Did they lose their minds????

Freddy Krueger is a child murderer.........plain and simple......he is a ruthless killer and that's why us true horror fans fell in love with him in the 80's. Do not make him out to be a video game nerd.. Every time I see the part where he says "now im playing with power" I want to find the idiots that wrote that line and strangle them.

Yaphet Kotto was a nice touch and even seeing Roseanne and Tom Arnold was cool and I'm sure the 3-D was that I never got to see, but other then that the film sucked.

I can just imagine the conversation in the writing department over at New Line Cinema.........

"yeah lets make a character that has to wear a hearing aid and Freddy will alter it so that he hears things so loud that it will blow his head apart from his eardrums exploding..........Freddy will scratch a chalkboard real fast while dry humping the air and it will be the coolest Elm street killing yet!"

Jesus Christ where do they find these people at?
