Movie Review by Jenny
June 7th, 2007

It's official. I have a girl crush on Marion Cotillard. It all started with "Love Me If You Dare", and now I have to see everything she's been in.

When this movie came out, I ignored it. I'm not the biggest Russell Crowe fan, and he just seemed hard to take in this movie. Then when I found out *she* was in it...

Unfortunately, *she* cannot really do much to save this film. It's a boring story of a rich a**hole (Russell Crowe, can you believe he's playing an a**hole?) who inherits a failing vineyard in France. There are a few moments in this movie that makes it good, mostly flashbacks from Russell Crowe's past. In these scenes, the young Russell Crowe is played by Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Arthur and the Invisibles), and the uncle is played by the great Albert Finney. I love that man. Albert Finney, Freddie Highmore, Marion Cotillard, and Tom Hollander save this movie. They provide so much life, and humor to a very dull film. But they are very underused.

I couldn't recommend this movie unless you're really into slow moving movies. The cinematography is beautiful, so it's a feast to watch, it just moves so slow. I still give it three stars for the cast and the cinematography. I'm biased.
