Movie Review by Andrea
May 7th, 2007

Flicka (2006) = cute movie!

I went to see it with my sister. She's a horse lover and I've always liked the horse films I've seen. Fan of Maria Bello. I didn't know she was in it until a few hours before I went. I was quite happy. I've been a fan ever since Coyote Ugly, which I own. I haven't seen My Friend Flicka (1943) or read the book so I knew nothing about the story except the original had a boy as the main character instead of a girl. The movie was cute. It's funny at times but mostly pulls at your heartstrings. I was weary of Tim McGraw acting (as I haven't seen Friday Night Lights) but he did an okay job. Nothing spectacular. I was more pleased with Maria's and Ryan Kwanten's performances. I kept wondering where I had saw him before. I loved how Danny Pino (Scotty from Cold Case) was in the film too. It was cool to see him act like he was from the south..they way he talked. Nice to see Alison Lohman in another role too. I was surprised to see Wade Williams (Captain Brad from Prison Break) in a cameo. I would give it an 8 out of 10. I wouldn't have minded if it was a little longer. It seemed like only 90 minutes (okay it was 94 to be exact).
