It Lost the Effect and Creepiness of the First

The Grudge 2 Movie Review

Director: Takashi Shimizu

Actors: Amber Tamblyn, Arielle Kebbel, and Sarah Michelle Gellar

Rated PG-13: For Mature Thematic Material, Disturbing Images/Terror/Violence, and Some Sensuality.

In Tokyo, the younger sister (Amber Tamblyn) of the woman (Sarah Michelle Gellar) previously haunted by the titular supernatural force — which fills folks with rage and spreads victim by victim — finds the nasty problem tracking her down, too.

The Grudge 2 has ok Acting, Bad Directing, ok Special Effects, and Bad Writing. I believe that the first Grudge film was one of the best horror films ever and having a sequel this crappy is kind of a slap in the director's face. The Grudge 2's best aspect was the Acting and only two of the films actors actually did a good or exceptional job on the film, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Arielle Kebbel, They had the best parts, Gellar is the women from the first film, Karen, and now everybody thinks she is crazy for believing in the curse, and about 2 seconds after Karen died, the film went downhill. Ms. Kebbel was the second and last good actor in the film, she was very good in the parts she was in as the good school girl gone crazy. Amber Tamblyn was the only exceptional actor in the whole film, she did an alright job as the clueless sister of Karen. The Writing was the worst part of the film, The Writing made the film jumbled and really dull, it wasn't interesting how they made three different stories connected; it just didn't work for me like it did in the first. The only reason I gave this film 2 stars is because of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Arielle Kebbel. I would suggest to anyone instead of seeing the second one just see the first one and skip the sequel. There are rumors of a third film and I highly suggest this does not happen! One last thing I'd like to mention was the creepiness factor, the second film scored 2 out of 10 for me and the first scored a 9 out of 10 for me. The second Grudge was just not creepy at all it was more laughable and the first Grudge was just utterly creepy and almost terrifying.

Overall I Suggest the First Grudge and Then Just Stay Away From the Second Grudge, Unless You Would like To See Sarah Michelle Gellar for About 5 Minutes

You know I find it irritating that all the movies I really like seem to get the worst reviews around here, but I respect your opinion. What didn't you like about the directing? Was it just the fact that Sarah Michelle didn't get to come back for long or what? Just wondering.

I saw Ju-On 2 aka the japanese version of the film and I loved the effects of the film and the angels the film was shot at and the director went from that to this and it just seemed to be broughten down compared to Ju-On 2
and no it had nothing to do with Sarah Michelle Gellar though I loved her in the first, i knew she was going to die

But about the movies u like always getting the worse reviews, I COMPLETELY agree with you, I mean if you look at my reviews comapred to other peoples there COMPLETELY different.

Okay....I wish I would've seen Ju-On 2 then. :)

At least I'm not alone in having different opinions of movies...haha. :)
