Movie Review by Tim

Feast your eyes on this!

Feast was another DVD that I picked up because I could not find anything else I wanted to see. I must admit the cover made me think I was already going into something pretty whack, however I noticed right away that Wes Craven, Ben Affleck , and Matt Damon all had worked on the production of the movie and really I must say this film absolutely surprised me.
To help you understand this movie, think, "TREMORS" meets "FROM DUSK TILL DAWN"......Several patrons are relaxing in a bar and all the sudden a man rushes in with a shotgun and tells the people that some sort of vicious creatures are on their way to kill everyone in there path. What saved the very plain and boring plot was the delivery of extreme gore and the very fast pace of the film. Its not like the typical horror movies that have been released lately that require an hour or more of build up, you get right into the good stuff in the first 15 minutes. This movies development was part of Project Green Light 3, for those of you not familiar with that its a company that tries to promote new coming actors by showing their talent started by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
So the positives are without a doubt the speed, action, gore, and actually some good comedy scenes.........The only negative is the monsters look really fake and not very scary. They also have a habit of "humping" things and you do get to see monster climax.........Yes what drugs were the writers on? Who knows. Starring Duane Whitaker (Devils Rejects), Balthazar Getty (you will remember him as the gas station attendant that got to have sex with Mallory Knox {Juliette Lewis} in Natural Born Killers) and Henry Rollins (most known for being the singer of The Rollins Band but also great in the flick Heat).
I gave this film a little higher then it probably should be for the simple reason that its an academy award winner compared the most of the horror garbage that Hollywood has been releasing lately. Check it out, any horror fan will find it entertaining.
