I will be on television Wearing brown underpants

Favorite movie quotes for : Hollywoodland

Toni Mannix: She's a lesbian, you know.
George Reeves: Who?
Toni Mannix: The one playing Lois.
George Reeves: Phyllis? Is she really?
Toni Mannix: No. She is now, as far as you're concerned.
George Reeves: Well... there it is.

I must embarrassingly say that I never knew of any of this " death of George Reeves" controversy before this film. I never had even heard the name. Yeah I saw the Superman films when Christopher Reeve was wearing the tights and saving the day but I never knew that there was a television show back in the earlier years that the films had followed.

First off I'm not a huge Superman man. Don't get me wrong I would love to own the first appearance of Superman which is in the comic book Action Comics #1 (June 1938)....not because I think Superman is cool but because according to my current comic price guide it is worth $600,000.00 dollars in near mint condition. Yeah I'm a comic geek.

So my rating probably would have been better if this documentary style drama was about someone that actually meant something to me. I thought Ben Affleck was better then usual and Adrian Brody always delivers.

Some of the quick "time period" changes were a little confusing at first, the audience at some point has to make the assumption that the time changes are indeed happening and that you are not confusing yourself more then you should.

I don't know how accurate the film is to fact because like I said I had never heard of any of this but it really didn't entertain me enough to go and google it or do any research. The guy is dead, he was on TV....other then that who cares?
