What'd I tell you about talking when I'm f*cking?
So what gets you irritated? Personally, I can't stand people who use those irritating Nextel walkie-talkies. Keep you damn beep beep to yourself! I also get irritated when people wear wife-beaters in a restaurant. I don't want to see your disgusting armpit hair when I am eating. And, take your damn hat off.
Obviously, Stephen Dorff (The Gate, Blade) doesn't like noise when he is f*ucking. Kinda breaks his concentration, and the results can be fatal for those talking. Yeah, he's just that kind of guy.
So when hit men Cuba Gooding, Jr and Helen Mirren decide not to kill his wife, you can imagine the consequences when he finds out - and you know he will. The bad thing about doing something wrong (and not carrying out your contract IS wrong), is that someone will rat on you when they get pissed off. Now, why did Dr. Don (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) cheat on Precious (Mo'Nique)? Bad move.
Now, that's the easy stuff. The rest of the movie is a little harder to comprehend.
You see, Cuba Gooding, Jr. is part of a hit team with Helen Miren, who used to be his hit-man stepmother until she killed his father while he was beating him as a child. Now, she is his partner and lover. Despite the age difference, and the taint of incest, there is real love here. He first shows it when he allows her to fail on that contact and they raise the mobster's wife and her child. He really proves it later on when she develops cancer.
This is a powerful and strange movie about love and relationships and morals. It will not be to everyone's taste, but you should sample it.
