"Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties," is a fine film chocked full of forgetable scenes. As a children's film, I suppose it suceeds; my two cousins who I took to the film said they enjoyed it and it was alot of fun, however throughout the film's 90 minute or so running time, it seemed as if my cousins were bored stiff. Unlike my cousins who raved about the first "Garfield" flick, I was left in the dark on what previously happend to the food-loving cat, his pal Odie and master Jon. Of course, I don't know how important the previous film's events really were to this 'tale.'
I will say that the film isn't completely terrible and there is a sense of comfortable watching this characters/animals interact on the screen. I found Odie to be a joy, yet didn't quite understand why he was the only animal in the film that didn't speak in a human voice to the other animals around him. I guess he couldn't and I guess I'll have to rent the first film to see if this question is explained and also just to see more of that damn adorable dog!
As an adult, though, the only real joy this film had was the presence of Jennifer Love Hewitt, who I use to crush hardcore about during those "House Arrest" days. She really is a beautiful women who I would probably watch more of if she didn't continue to pick projects I find no interest in, such as this film and her CBS show "Ghost Whisper." However, when she's on the screen, she owns it, mainly due to that one of a kind smile. Thankfully, the filmmakers also threw Lucy Davis into this film , who is another actress I find very easy on the eyes. Davis, who played Dawn on the legendary british show, "The Office," doesn't sparkle as brightly on the screen as Love does, however she has that simple beauty that really goes a long way for someone such as myself.
So, an adorable dog, two beautiful actress and a clever joke here or there makes "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" a somewhat pleasing, yet unnecessary time at the cinema.

Good and honest review and I commend you for taking your "little" cousins to see it...but you will do anything to go to a new movie, even babysit...
