It was... aiiight
I'm not a comic book reader and I've never watched the cartoon based on this very popular series. I simply take the movies for what they bring to me. While I liked the first installment and was more impressed with the second, this one just seemed a little boring to me.
Still filled with all of the fabulous special effects that you would expect from the blockbuster status of the franchise, you can't go wrong there. But the storyline of having a little kid who possesses the power to take away all of the mutations just didn't catch on with me.
I did like the hot and steamy interaction between Jean Gray and Wolverine. There's nothing better than getting to see Famke Janssen vamp it up. Hell, can you expect anything less than sexy from a woman named "Famke"?
This was also a rough movie for My Midget to watch. Not because she isn't used to the cinematic violence (she's a tough one, that girl) but because her favorite character is Mystique and seeing her get sold out broke my baby's heart. She stifled tears and huffed in her chair with her arms folded across her chest, angry that they "hurted Mystique!!"
I've got to agree with her. Rebecca really does look better in blue.

| It always amazes me with whom people identify. "Hurted Mystique". Classic. I surprised myself by favoring Nightcrawler; the atheist identifying with the guilt-ridden Catholic. Go figure. |
