After landing in the wrong place at the wrong time, Slevin must kill The Rabbi's to scratch a $96,000 debt to The Boss and pay off $33,000 to The Rabbi. He can't go to the police and he can't leave the city. On top of all this, behind the scene's Mr. Smith aka Mr. Goodkat is secretly plotting to kill Slevin.
Lucky Number Slevin is a very interesting film to both watch and review. It kind of starts out as a comedy, with sly jokes and a smart and funny script. The last half hour becomes very serious, where the story gets smart and the details begin to spill out between our characters. Lucky Number Slevin is a very good movie. Because it is neither an acion thriller nor a comedy, but kind of something in between which seperates it from the rest.
Josh Hartnett has played a few big and important characters in some great movies. Sheriff Eben in 30 Days of Night, Dwight in The Black Dahlia and Eversmann in Black Hawk Down. The character of Slevin was a great role for him. While Matthew wrote a review which said that he is one of the most boring actors of our time, I have to disagree. I thought the script handled him well and his slow, straight approach of acting is perfect to the character.
Lucy Liu on the other end, is really annoying in this film. Lindsey is the neighbor of Nick Fisher, and she is talkative and boring. She is the character which everyone gets so annoyed by we wish she would just die. Bruce Willis plays an amazing part here in Lucky Number Slevin. As Mr. Good Kat, his character is just awesome.
One of the beig highlights in this film is the very funny and both serious script which they offer. Most of the jokes come out very normal and fit the characters well. By the last 45 minutes or so, the characters get serious and the film gets very gritty and violent. This ending really shows the great path that the movie takes because it eventually leads you on one thing and leads you the next way. The kansas city shuffle, the one thing this movie is.
Lucky Number Slevin is awesome.

| I love this movie, and most of my friends hate it. I was genuinely surprised by the ending, and thought Josh Hartnett was very good, but the real reason to watch this is for Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley and Bruce Willis, who provide the three best characters in the movie. |
