Movie Review by Zara
March 12th, 2007

Cute, but not cute enough

This movie sells out a very good comedic actress by, let's face it, white washing her. In order to become appealing to a mass market, much of what was ghetto or black about Queen Latifah has been brushed away. Left behind is a beaten woman, someone that the white audiences like to embrace because she's the least scary of the bunch.

Focusing on a woman who bumps her head, gets a bad brain scan and believes she's dying and then decides to finally let loose after years of behaving herself, there is nothing to this movie that is special in any way. It's a typical bumbling mistaken something or other comedy.

One of the bright spots is Alicia Witt, the mistress to the man who owns the company Latifah used to work for. And while I'm still somewhat on the subject of whitewashing, what the f*ck ever happened to LL Cool J? Come on! That's just plain sad!
