The Ringer (2005)

Lame
I was very wary of this film as I work with special needs kids and I couldn't imagine this being anything but offensive. However instead of overly mocking special needs people, this film goes above and beyond to deify them and show them such respect that the movie becomes unrealistic.
Johnny Knoxville plays a man who is posing as 'special' to try and win the Special Olympics. Yadda, yadda, yadda, he falls in love, the other athletes see right through him but help him anyways. Blah.
The ending is terrible, the plot becomes way mushy and Katherine Heigl is severely underused.
Lame.
