The Kid and I

Ok first off before anyone makes any assumptions, I knew this movie was going to suck going into it. I knew it was low budget, straight to video and I knew that Tom Arnold had wrote it. Now I am a Tom Arnold fan back from his Roseanne days, but I really liked Tom in True Lies and I am a huge Arnold Schwarzenegger fan so I decided that I would rent this and see how bad it really could be.

First off I think everyone should know that if you are watching this to see Arnie (which is the main reason I did) then you will be extremely disappointed. One plot summary that I read on this movie gave the illusion that this movie recreated True Lies for a kid with a disability. I found that summary to be incorrect. You do get to see the main cast of True Lies being Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tom Arnold.........for probably about 30 seconds in ONE scene together at the END of the movie. Now you get to see plenty of Tom pathetically putting down his own acting career at the expense of trying to get a laugh out of the audience......well out of me and the other 3 people that rented this movie.

The kid this movie is about is Eric Gore (his real name and a real character) he has cerebral palsy and a ridiculously rich father that pays there real life neighbor Tom Arnold to put together a super action movie and make Eric the star and Tom the funny sidekick. Of course Eric is supposed to save the day, get the hot girl, and do all the cool action stunts. Thats all there really is to say about it, I know it just SUCKS. The coolest thing about the movie is to see the True Lies cast together, and the fact that Linda Hamilton is in the picture with Arnold Schwarzenegger for you Terminator fans......BUT......you do not actually get to see them in a scene together. I hate to do this but I have to give this one a half a star!
