Finally, A Movie Without A Destructed Future
Aeon Flux Movie Review
Director: Karyn Kusama
Actors: Charlize Theron, Marton Csokas, and Jonny Lee Miller
Rated PG-13: For Sequences of Violence and Sexual Content
Based on the MTV animated series created by Peter Chung, "Aeon Flux" is set 400 years in the future, when disease has wiped out the majority of the earth's population except for one walled, protected city-state, Bregna, ruled by a congress of scientists. The story centers on Aeon Flux (Charlize Theron), the top operative in the underground 'Monican' rebellion - led by The Handler (Frances McDormand). When Aeon is sent on a mission to kill a government leader, she uncovers a world of secrets.
First off I'd just like to say how happy I am to finally see a movie without a destructed future like fires everywhere, darkness, and things just destroyed. Aeon Flux is an ok movie with a great look into the future without any destruction. Aeon Flux had ok Acting, Directing, great Special Effects, and somewhat ok Writing. Let's start off with the Acting, yes the acting was good but it could have been way better. I seem to prefer Charlize Theron when she doesn't act like her crap don't stink and she just acts normal, yes I understand that, that is her character in the movie but she could have seemed a little more conscious about stuff. Now the Special Effects and the Writing I believe that the special effects were the best part of the whole movie but, the writing seemed to bring it all down, but not all in a bad way, I believe the best aspect of the whole movie is the story line the movie is based off of, that just seemed perfect for this movie and I believe a lot of people will like the story also.
Overall I believe this movie did not meet its true potential but I do believe it opened a new genre for Sci-Fi movies
