Movie Review by Seth C
October 20th, 2006

Batman is my favorite super-hero because there isn't anything super about him. Unlike Spiderman, Superman or even Aquaman, who I only threw in here because not enough people mention his name - especially in Hollywood - Batman is only a man, flesh and blood, with no un-God given ability.

Even though I highly enjoyed Tim Burton's "Batman" and although I'm not proud to admit it, I even enjoyed some of Joel Schumacher's destruction of the franchise, when I heard "Memento" director Christopher Nolan was set to bring this story's beginnings once again to the big screens, I was overwhelmed with both excitement and fear. My main fear, especially after seeing the ads, was that this film was going to be too much about Bruce Wayne's training than the actual Cape Crusader, himself, however those fears were quickly shut away as the film perfectly displayed the realism to the Bruce Wayne character on screen. Christian Bale was a brilliant choice as Batman, while the always perfect Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson help make this film truly shine.

The ending, which hopefully sets up the franchise's next picture, leaves the audience wanting more and as my friend Sam said, it kind of makes you want "to dance with the devil in the pale moon light."

"Batman Begins" is a perfect film, thankfully.

Leave it to Nolan to revamp and breathe life back into a comatose franchise. I can't wait to see what they do with the Scarecrow spin-off.
